How the two words are related

Loanword

Borrowed between the languages (or by both from a third).

Arabic root

خ-ز-ن

Modern Hebrew מחסן is widely explained as a direct borrowing from Arabic makhzan rather than an inherited cognate — regular sound law would turn Arabic ز into Hebrew ז, but מחסן has ס instead, the fingerprint of a loanword rather than a shared root. The same Arabic word, filtered through Ottoman Turkish and Italian magazzino, also gave English 'magazine' — your storeroom and your favorite periodical share an ancestor.
