What stays on your device

Hebrabic stores your flashcard scheduling, quiz history, completed lessons, and display preferences (transliteration mode, vowel marks) in your browser's localStorage. This saved progress is never transmitted to us or to anyone else — it exists only in the browser you're using right now, which also means it doesn't sync between devices.

What this site doesn't do

• No user accounts and no sign-up — nothing to register.
• No cookies.
• No tracking across sites, no fingerprinting, no personal profiles.
• No advertising and no advertising trackers.
• No forms — the site never asks for your name, email, or any other personal information.

Audio

Arabic audio is generated by your browser's built-in speech synthesis using voices installed on your device or operating system. Hebrabic never records audio and never sends or receives any. Depending on your OS settings, some system voices may be fetched from your operating system's vendor — that exchange is governed by your OS, not by this site.

Fonts

All fonts are bundled with the site and served from the same domain. Your browser makes no requests to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service when you use Hebrabic.

Anonymous usage statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages people visit, how fast they load, and how learning features are used — for example, when a lesson is marked complete, a quiz or flashcard session is finished (with its score), a word is searched for or shared, audio is played, or a display setting is changed. These counts help us fix confusing lessons and add missing words.

Both tools are cookieless. They don't store anything on your device, don't follow you across other websites, and don't build a profile of you. Visits are grouped using a short-lived hash that resets every day, so we can't recognize you when you come back. Your saved progress itself is never sent — only the anonymous events listed above. Hosting

The site is served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard technical request data (such as IP addresses and browser user agents) in transient server logs in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy for details. Beyond the anonymous statistics described above, we add no logging or data collection of our own.

Your choices

To erase everything Hebrabic knows about you, clear this site's data in your browser (site settings → clear data). That resets your progress instantly and completely. Your progress was never on a server, and the anonymous statistics can't be linked back to you, so there is nothing personal for us to delete.

About the content

Hebrabic is a free educational resource for learning Modern Standard Arabic (with spoken-Levantine notes) through Hebrew — and, in its mirrored mode, everyday Modern Hebrew through Arabic. The content is provided as-is, with care but without warranty — if you spot a mistake, we'd genuinely like to fix it.
