Terms of Service
Draft of September 30, 2026
These terms cover your use of Hebrabic, a website for learning Arabic through Hebrew and Hebrew through Arabic. Hebrabic is operated by [operator's legal name, registered address and company number] ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and why.
1. The service
Hebrabic offers lessons, vocabulary, dialogues, drills, and related tools. Much of it is free and works without an account: your progress is then stored only in your own browser.
An account is optional. It lets you sync progress across devices, subscribe to a paid plan, and join or run classes.
We may add, change, or remove features. When a change removes something you have paid for, [what we offer — e.g. a pro-rated refund — to be decided by the owner].
2. Accounts
You can sign in with an emailed link, with Google, or with an email address and password. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Give your real name and an email address you control. One account is for one person.
Minimum age for opening an account without a school, and how parental consent works where it is required, to be set by counsel for each country where Hebrabic is offered. Hebrabic does not currently ask for a date of birth.
Students who join a class through their school or teacher are also covered by the school's agreement with us (see "Schools and teachers" below) and by our note on students' data.
3. Plans, payments, and renewal
The plans and prices are listed on the Pricing page, which is the reference if it differs from this summary:
- Free: everything public, including the first 3 dialogues and the first 5 vocabulary flashcard decks.
- Pro, for one person: all flashcard decks, all dialogues, the conjugation drill, cloud sync, and progress statistics. Monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial.
- Teacher, for one teacher, yearly: Pro for the teacher, plus up to 3 classes and 40 students, who get Pro while they are enrolled.
- School, for an organization, yearly, per seat (minimum 25 seats): Pro for every seat, unlimited teachers and classes, and an admin console.
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter card details on Stripe's pages; we never see or store your card number. Prices are shown before any tax that applies. [How tax is shown and charged to be confirmed once tax collection is set up.]
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your Account page (through Stripe's billing portal); you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
The free trial is offered once per account. If you don't cancel before it ends, the first payment is taken and the subscription continues.
If a payment fails, access continues while Stripe retries the charge and we ask you to update your card. If every retry fails, the subscription ends and the account returns to the Free plan. Nothing you have learned is deleted.
Refund policy (including any statutory withdrawal or cooling-off rights for consumers) to be written by the owner with counsel.
4. Schools and teachers
A teacher can create classes and share a join code. Students who join see the class's assignments; the teacher sees each enrolled student's name, email address, and activity in the class from the moment they joined (never from before), and can export it as a spreadsheet. For a school, the school's admins see the same for the school's classes.
On the Teacher plan a teacher may have up to 3 active classes and 40 distinct students. On the School plan, the students in the school's classes and its staff together may not exceed the number of paid seats. When a limit is reached, new students can't join until a place is freed.
Students in a class have Pro while they are enrolled and the teacher's or school's plan is active.
If you invite or enrol students, you confirm that you are allowed to do so by your school and, where required, by the students' parents or guardians. Schools that use Hebrabic with their students should sign our data processing agreement, which governs how we handle their students' data.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- share an account, resell access, or get around a plan's limits or paywall;
- copy the content in bulk, or scrape or overload the site;
- attack, probe, or disrupt the site or other people's accounts;
- use class names, invitations, or any other text you enter to harass anyone or to publish anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. [Notice and appeal process to be defined by the owner.]
6. Content and accuracy
The lessons, word lists, dialogues, notes, and audio are provided for learning. They are prepared with care but may contain mistakes, including in vowel marks, transliteration, and dialect forms; they are not a professional translation service. If you spot an error, please tell us.
[Ownership and licensing of the content to be confirmed by the owner.] You may use Hebrabic for your own learning and, with a Teacher or School plan, with your classes. Don't republish the content outside Hebrabic without our permission.
Some features rely on your browser: where there is no recorded audio, words are spoken by your device's speech synthesis, and speaking practice uses your browser's speech recognition, which may send your voice to the browser maker's service. Hebrabic receives only the recognized text and does not store recordings.
7. Services we rely on
Hebrabic runs on services from other companies, including Vercel (hosting and anonymous statistics), Stripe (payments), Resend (account emails), and Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to what they do.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account from the Account page. Cancel any running subscription first. Deleting the account removes your profile, synced progress, activity, and class memberships; Stripe keeps its payment records as the law requires. You can also download everything we store about you from the same page.
9. Warranties and liability
Hebrabic is provided as it is, with care but without a promise that it will always be available or error-free.
Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability, including consumer-law carve-outs, to be drafted by counsel for the governing law.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. [How and how far in advance paying subscribers are told about material changes to be decided by the owner.]
11. Governing law and contact
Governing law, courts, and any dispute-resolution clause to be chosen with counsel.
Questions about these terms: [legal contact email]. Billing questions: hello@hebrabic.com (the current support address).
