Not a modern borrowing: Mishnaic Hebrew already has כוסבר (kusbar), and the plant name is far older than either language (Akkadian has kisibirru). Modern כוסברה is that Mishnaic word with a final -a, probably under the influence of Arabic kuzbara. The ס/ز difference is typical of a traveling culture word rather than an inheritance by regular sound law.
